While goggles, helmets, and knee pads are standard equipment designed to protect our bodies, your smile deserves equal consideration, so we recommend an athletic mouthguard. Because even a small amount of direct force can cause breakage, chipping, or tooth loss, a mouthguard can prevent injury to your teeth, lips, face, tongue, and jaw.

Made of a special plastic, an athletic mouthguard will fit comfortably over your upper teeth and dramatically reduce the risk of sports-related oral injury. Although you can purchase ready-made or mouth-formed mouthguards, these appliances don’t provide a comfortable fit or last as long as a custom mouthguard. Dr. Christopher or Dr. Natalie will take an impression of your mouth so that we can make a custom mouthguard.
